HOMEWORK due 9/20:
- Bring 3 Jpegs (quality not important) of recent work to next class in folder labeled with your full name on a Flash Drive or disk. Be prepared to speak briefly about your work in class on 9/20.
Tuesday 9/20
CLASS WORK:
- Each student will show 3 slides of recent work and talk briefly about it. (4 minutes each)
- 2 volunteers will take notes for each presentation and give those notes to presenter as reference for writing an artist statement.
- We will go over the artist statement and how to write it.
HOMEWORK due 9/27:
- Sit in front of your actual work and write about it as objectively as possible. Refer to class handouts to help you structure your ideas.
- Bring statement draft along with 3 paintings or works on paper that best represent your overall body of work to class on 9/27
Tuesday 9/27
CLASS WORK
- Each student will sit and write about another student’s work for the first part of class.
- We will read and discuss both statements in relationship to each body of work
HOMEWORK due 10/03
- Write a final draft of artist statement based on group feedback and bring to class on 10/03 along with 3 professional quality images (1024 x768 pixels at 300 dpi) in a folder labeled with your full name on a flash drive or disk.
